ROGER TAYLOR
...
Freebass was a British electronic dance band, formed in Birmingham by Roger Taylor. Twelve years after leaving Duran Duran Roger formed Freebass during May 1997, with Mark Anthony of Fuzzbox. In May that year the band played some gigs in Birmingham, and then recorded a few songs two months later during July. Many of these songs performed later featured on the band's only single "Love Is Like Oxygen", a song originally released in the 1970s by the British glam rock group Sweet. The single was released to UK radio stations in early November, with the planned release date later that month. But because of very little radio play the single was pushed back and eventually issued in January 1998. In January the single was released in the UK and placed in the UK Music Week top ten chart, but the band broke up during the month.

JOHN TAYLOR
"I Do What I Do (Theme For 9½ Weeks)" was a single performed by John Taylor, giving his first solo singing performance during a hiatus in Duran Duran's career and also features Michael Brecker performing saxophone. It was the main single released from the Original Soundtrack album. ."I Do What I Do" was co-written by Jonathan Elias, Michael Des Barres and John Taylor, after Des Barres was approached about writing a song for the movie's soundtrack. It was originally intended to be sung by Lisa Dalbello, but she bowed out at the last minute and John decided he could do the song instead. "I Do What I Do" reached #23 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #42 on the UK Singles Chart. It was also nominated in the 1986 Golden Raspberry Awards for "Worst Original Song", but lost to "Love or Money" by Prince.

"Feelings Are Good And Other Lies" was John's first solo project after leaving Duran Duran in 1997, in which he writes, performs and produces all the tracks. The CD was originally marketed by mail order relying on word-of-mouth among Duran fanzines and online communities, but released later on a large record label. During this period Taylor was struggling to end his long addiction to drink and drugs, which is he wrote about in the song "Trust the Process" featured on this album.

"Nobody Knows" Written by Simon and Nick Wood, the song was created over a long distance with Le Bon recording the vocals at the Sphere Studios, London (UK) in the studio known as the Duran Duran room. The data was then sent to Tokyo (Japan) where Nick Wood added drums, bass, piano and guitar. He then mixed the song and released the track within two weeks through i-Tunes in Japan. There was no official CD release, which would normally have taken two months to produce. This is an cdr bootleg. The recording is also available on the promotional only album Songs and Scores.
